We updated our benefits and now we offer medical cannabis without a waiting period.

MCS Life will reimburse the insured person fifty percent (50%) of the following benefits:

• Expense incurred to obtain your certification or license for the use of medicinal cannabis, in accordance with Act 42 of 2017 and its regulations.
• Expenses incurred on medicinal cannabis medications. Manufactured products derived from the cannabis flower and other derivatives are covered, such as concentrates, patches, edibles, capsules, tinctures, oil and creams.

The maximum amount of this benefit is four hundred fifty dollars ($450) per policy year. The refund will only be available for those purchases made at Clínica Verde dispensaries and its affiliated. The cannabis flower, known as the “moña”, is excluded from this benefit.

How to request a refund?

• To obtain the reimbursement form for medicinal cannabis , access: https://mcs.com.pr/es/Paginas/herramdamientos-servicios/forms.asp. It is also available in our MCS Service Centers.
• You must include the original purchase receipt according to your coverage benefit for the reimbursement issued by the dispensary with the following information:
  • Dispensary name
  • Dispensary telephone number
  • License number of the authorized patient for the use of Medicinal Cannabis
  
  
• Include a copy of the authorized patient license for the use of Medicinal Cannabis issued by the Puerto Rico Department of Health.
• Once the Medical Cannabis reimbursement form has been completed and signed, it must be sent together with the aforementioned documents to: [email protected]
