Carolyn Rodríguez Rivera, Chief Pharmacy Officer, is responsible for directing and managing the Pharmacy Department’s operational processes, as well as all strategies related to pharmacy benefits for all MCS business lines. Within this role, she is responsible for Pharmacy’s financial, operational and compliance results.
She joined MCS in 2005 as the Clinical Pharmacy Director and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy in August 2010. The executive continued to climb positions ranging from Pharmacy Vice President and Pharmacy Executive Vice President, a position she held from 2018 to 2024.
Prior to joining MCS, Rodríguez already had extensive experience in specialty pharmacies, community pharmacy and insurance companies, including four years with Nova Infusion & Compounding Pharmacy Corp., where she served as owner, Chief Operations Officer and President.
Dr. Rodríguez earned a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (RPH) from the University of Puerto Rico, and a doctorate in Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In addition, she obtained a master’s degree in Health Law Jurisprudence from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. She is currently registered at the Health Professionals Regulatory and Certification Office and is a member of the Puerto Rico Pharmacists Association.
